Constructed from TIG-welded T-321 stainless steel with 1/2" thick flanges, the Perrin uppipe for your Subaru is designed to handle the extreme heat of your Subaru's turbocharged engine without warping or cracking. Bolt this product up to your turbo and you will experience quicker spool, more power and snappier low end throttle response. The Perrin uppipe includes detailed instructions and new studs to make installation of this part as easy as possible. The Perrin uppipe does delete the factory EGT sensor on 02-05 WRX/FXT/LGT models, so engine management or the 'resistor mod' will be necessary to eliminate the inevitable check engine light that you encounter. Replacement gaskets are recommended but not included.

On the 2002-2005 WRX, Forester XT, and Legacy GT the stock uppipe utilizes a wound metal catalytic converter (other models did not have a catalytic converter at that location). This factory metal cat is a known failure point that can melt and break apart, causing catastrophic turbocharger damage. Additionally, the stock uppipe is restrictive and can inhibit spool-up. The Perrin Performance Catless Uppipe removes this weak-point and is compatible with all stock-location turbochargers, stock exhaust manifolds and stock fitment header systems. This product does not include the stock EGT bung for 2002-2005 WRX / 2005-2006 Legacy GT (LGT) models.
