    Description

    Vintage Wooden Salyerds One Piece hockey stick made of rock elm. The stick measures approximately 49 inches from the top of the stick to the point where the handle turns into the blade. The blade is approximately 11 1/2  inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide at its widest  point. The salyerds label is dried and fragile with portions chipped off here and there. On the blade you will notice 175 is written in black pricing crayon. I believe this was the selling price. In trying to estimate the age of the stick i found a 1929 print add in which the price of the cheapest Salyerds stick was 16.00 per dozen sticks. At 1.75 it appears  the stick probably falls into the late 20's/early 30's time period.That is the best i was able to do in estimating a possible age. Please  notice that Avoca NY is on the label.
